Franklin P. Schargel is a former HS classroom teacher, school counselor and school administrator for a Title 1i New York City school.

He is the author of 12 books dealing with preventing school dropouts. His work has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, the New York Times, Fortune Magazine, Public Broadcasting, National Public Radio, Auburn University, and the National Dropout Prevention Center.
