In my opinion, the best makeup organizer is whatever is easiest to clean. I have been using a lucite makeup tray to store all of my makeup for years. Every few months, I take everything out, wash it in the sink with soap and water, let it dry completely, then re-organize my makeup, and put it away. It has lasted me well for 4 years now.

I also think that antique glassware is a pretty way to store things like makeup brushes, lipsticks, mascaras, eyeliner pencils, etc. I shop for these second-hand both in stores and online.

It is great to source pretty cups, goblets, and trays that can be used to store makeup. Shopping second-hand is also more sustainable than newly manufactured plastic alternatives!

I love it because I can categorize my makeup, with the five drawers. It is transparent so you can see what’s inside at a glance. This box has great quality and I have been using mine for a few years now and it’s still going on strong.

How I categorise my makeup with each of the five drawers:

      • Base makeup such as foundation, blushers, contouring.
      • Eye makeup, lip colors, pencils.
      • Mascaras, false lashes.
      • Makeup brushes.
      • Any new makeup, other bits that don’t fit in categories 1-4.
